MGI UK & Ireland Area announces new seminar programme

MGI UK and Ireland, part of the worldwide association of accountancy firms, has announced details of its seminar programme for 2010.

Members of MGI benefit from a regular programme of regional, national and international meetings throughout the year and, in most cases, interested parties and guests are welcome to attend.

MGI UK and Ireland’s conference season kicks off on 8 March, with a session on IT, where a number of expert speakers will update attendees on the latest technology and how it can be used to benefit accountancy firms. On 23 March, there will be a seminar on tax issues, followed by a financial services seminar on 10 May.

A marketing forum is scheduled for late May, on a date to be confirmed, while a charities seminar will take place on 25 June, where accountants who are particularly involved in providing services for the voluntary sector will be able to meet up to share information and advice. A second tax seminar is scheduled for 21 September, while the member firms’ managing partners are due to get together on 15 April and 26 October.

The association has also selected the weekend of 18 to 20 November for their main annual conference, at a venue to be confirmed.

Paul Winder, chief executive officer of MGI UK and Ireland, said: “Over recent years, we have really managed to build up our seminar programme, and they now provide a great opportunity for our members to share best practice and learn new ideas from leading experts and each other.

“I’m sure our seminars during 2010 will be equally successful, while our 2009 conference was also our most successful ever, with a record number of delegates and I’m confident we can build on that this year.”
